symbol of modern civilization.代寫

Introduction
Urbanization is the trend and symbol of modern civilization. With the process of industrialization and rapid development of economy, many countries in the world have entered the rapid development stage of urbanization. However, the development in modern times is at cost of environment. As the coin has two sides, the urbanization and ecological environment are closely related with advantages and disadvantages coexisting. Therefore the relationship between the urbanization and environment should be properly treated in order to find the balance with them. This essay aims to find out the environmental problems caused by urbanization in China.
Urbanization
From the perspective of sociology, the urbanization is the process of rural lifestyle changing into the urban lifestyle. Development, not the aim but one method, substantially aims to improve people’s living standard and living quality, promote the strengthening of human’s skills personalities, increase the overall development of the human society, thus to achieve the ultimate goal of harmonious development between people and the environment. When the degree of civilization and development is compared, the urbanization is one of the most important symbols. Even though the urbanization brings vigor to the economy and benefits to the modern technology, civilization and life, it cannot deny that it also leads to many problems concerning environment. To some degree, urban, like a center of pollutant, has great influence on the environment.
Environment problems
This paper will focus on the environment problems caused by urbanization in China which had a great speed of urbanization in the past several decades. Since the enforcement of Reform and opening up, the urbanization level in China has kept increasing with many migrant workers swarming into the urban which greatly accelerate the urbanization process. When Chinese people celebrate that the prosperity of urban economy promotes urbanization, they have to face some serious social and environmental problems, including environmental pollution, resource shortage, traffic congestion, and social disorder.
Because of urbanization, pumping of groundwater in the city becomes more and more, but the addition is less(Grimm et al., 2008). Waste water produced by industrial, municipal and civil organizations and people is poured into rivers, some of which has not met the standard after treatment and some even do not has the process of treatment. With the aggravation of urbanization, the quantity and speed of waste water emissions is beyond self-purification ability of rivers, which leads to more and more serious water pollution. In the process of industrial production, it is inevitable to produce a huge number of all kinds of industrial wastes. These garbage and wastes are shipped to be buried in the suburb. But at present a considerable amount of landfill is not seriously treated withoutsoil covering the surface or preventingleach ate infiltration etc(Jiang & Lin, 2012). In addition, the urbanization accelerates air pollution which mainly caused by the thermal power plant, civil stoves, and industrial boilers as well as gas produced in industrial process and vehicle emissions.
With the increasing of urbanization, the resources shortage becomes much more serious(Fei, Dong, Xue, Liang, & Yang, 2011).In the process of urbanization, the protection of ecological environment has been ignored as people are in lack of the scientific outlook on development, in one-sided pursuit of social and economic benefits, and the pursuit of economic development growth. From the perspective of city, development is blindly expanded, groundwater is recklessly exploited, and water supply is insufficient for a long time. As is known to all, water is one of the most serious challenges facing human being. With the development of urbanization, water shortage is much more serious in big cities. According to forecast of the United Nations agencies, the large and medium-sized cities in both developing countries and developed countries, including Beijing, Shanghai, Jakarta, Los Angeles, Houston, Warsaw, Cairo, Lagos, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Singapore, will face severe water scarcity. Shortage of land resources is bound to appear in the urbanization process. As land supply is absolutely rigid, serious problems concerning shortage of land resources happen when a very large number of population and industries swarm into central cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other cities(Zhang, Mount, & Boisvert, 2004). In addition, with the development of urbanization, medical equipment, food, education, teaching resources are facing serious shortage. The solution to problems of shortage of resources becomes the necessity of each big city in order to realize the sustainable development.
Traffic problem has become one of the primary problems in major cities. Acceleration of the urbanization process and soaring increase of urban population leads to highly uneven between the supply and demand of urban traffic which is mainly reflected by problems like traffic congestion, traffic pollution, traffic safety etc(Zhou et al., 2004). Due to government agency, court and a large number of enterprises, financial institutions and places of entertainment gathering at the city central areas, a large stream of people are in and out of the city center, which causes severe traffic congestion. Traffic congestion will not only lead to the degradation of economic and social functions, but also trigger continuous deterioration of city living environment and become the "urban diseases" to hinder the development. The city environment is also destroyed by the traffic congestion. In the process of rapid growth of motor vehicles, environmental pollution caused by traffic is also increasing, and gradually becomes the main sources of city environmental quality deterioration. In accordance with the related test report, 74% of nitrogen oxides come from automobile exhaust in big cities. Traffic congestion forces vehicles to be driven only in low speed. With the frequent parking and start of vehicles, not only the vehicles' energy consumption is increased, but also exhaust emissions and noise become more.
